Medicinal Tobacco Bath
All Organic Tobacco Leaf & Stems, Rose Petals & Buds, Lavender, California Mugwort
Utilizing tobacco in a bath is another way to experience its medicinal properties. This bath helps if you’re having an inflammatory response, and/or in need of a detox. The tobacco and the other medicinal herbs stimulate circulation, ease joint and muscle tension, and pull out toxins from the body. This restorative bath also helps with energetic clearing, grounding, and rebalancing. Personally, I utilize this bath as a physical & energetic reset button.
Each packet is intended to be used for 1 full body bath soak. For those who are very sensitive to tobacco, I recommend either steeping half the amount, or taking a shorter bath. This bath is intended for single use, as most of the medicinal properties will be in the first decoction. However, I have had folks tell me they saved the medicine to use for a 2nd bath in the refrigerator the next day and they simmered it for longer the 2nd time -- and that has worked for them as well.
+ When to Take the Medicinal Bath:
The best time to take the bath is in the morning, daytime, or before the early evening. I don't recommend taking the bath before going to bed. It can be stimulating and may keep you awake.
+ How to Prepare the Medicinal Bath:
Bring large sized pot of water to boil. Turn off heat.
*Pour in contents of entire bath blend bag (~3oz) & stir
Cover pot & let steep for 15-20 minutes.
Strain tea into bathtub. Put your prayers and intentions into the bath before getting in.
*For a stronger medicinal bath, turn heat to low after bringing to boil and simmer blend for 15-20 mins. I only recommend this if you have already worked with this bath, and know your tolerance levels.
+ After the Medicinal Bath:
It is best to offer the spent tobacco & herbs back to the Earth. Compost is fine in a pinch. As a sign of respect, do not put the tobacco & herbs into the trash. They are sacred medicines.
* Caution: Do not use during pregnancy.
** Get out of the bath if you begin to experience nausea, lightheadedness, dizziness, intense heart palpitations, skin irritation, and/or allergic reaction.
+ Tobacco Foot Soak:
This can also be prepared as a medicinal foot soak, that can be utilized at any time. Prepare by simmering a handful of medicine in medium sized pot for 10-15 minutes. Pour into foot bath container, add cold water to get to preferred temperature for foot soak.
